Context

The artistic practice of Lizzie Lambert explores the feminine form as an object. Pulling from historical gender stereotyping and the resultant language that surrounds it, their work has spanned across multiple disciplines. Most notably in recent works, Lambert has explored sculpture and textiles as an extension of their established themes and context, utilising methods such as sewing as a reactive medium mostly gendered towards women. Working across mediums, Lambert lends from “crafty” techniques and methodology, utilising methods such as collage and papier mache to replicate female anatomy in order to both glorify and objectify it.
